At around 4:02 pm a year ago today, my best friend asked if I would marry him. In no way possible was I able to contain my happiness or tears. Even today, reminiscing on the very special moment makes me speechless. We went and took engagement pictures at Munyon with ericaJ and then Boo surprised me with dinner at The Cheesecake Factory and then a night at Jupiter Civic Center on the beach. I can't believe we are so close to our day. I love you, Boo a bagil

The time has finally arrived to be able to get back in the Civic Center!!! The roof is done and the doors were open this Wednesday. SO excited!!!! Also very relieving is the beach progress. Sunday during my visit with Kris after the bridal shows we saw they had the beach fenced off and a bunch of pipes (seen in the picture) stacked in the orange fence. Three days later and they have the pipes all laid out. At that rate they will be finished by next weekend. Lets just hope they continue to move at the same pace. Fingers crossed. I wash;t the only one anxious to get inside the building as you can see, there were brides off the wazoo. Lots of nice ones, lots of new ones!!!! I kind of walked in and started setting up tables to figure out a layout idea while everyone sat around and watched. I'm assuming I looked authoritative (or at least like I knew what I was doing) because lots of people came to ask me questions. Which I of course completely loved because I'm a wedding freak and want everyone to get married at JCC and it just be wonderful for all. Anyway, I was able to successfully figure out a potential layout and saw that our lobster trap top frames will fit perfectly in the windows. I Kris and I spent the almost the entire day bridal show hopping. We were able to get some good ideas and meet some other brides. We were hoping to win some giveaways, but we weren't fortunate enough to do so. However, we did manage to meet a really nice guy who gave me two pieces of sea glass that are absolutely gorgeous! Of course, we took full advantage of the photo booths present at the shows! Afterward we headed to JCC right down the road to see if there was an event taking place. There was so we took some photos and headed down to the beach to look for sea glass and so I could show her are hypothetical spot. :) We learned today that if someone asks for a date, just tell them undecided. After what seemed to be a never ending task we have finally stuck the fork in the bridesmaid dresses. From Infinity to some chiffon number at Davids, we settled on a Tommy Hilfigure dress. Thankfully the Palm Beach Outlets opened in enough time before the wedding to postpone this monumental dilemma. Who would have thought that finding a dress that was both suitable, unique, inexpensive, nautical, and navy would have been so difficult? It's not like I needed something specific, ha! Anyway, one short trip to Palm Beach Outlets, and one long drive to Orlando (complements to Madre) to pick up the remaining sizes we are now done dress shopping for my girls! Now on to the next things: jewelry, hair, shoes… the fun stuff begins! After finally deciding on where we should take engagement pictures, we couldn't think of anything better than Munyon Island. We had nothing better to do then spend the day with one another, so we headed to the island to check out potential photo spots. We found quite a few then headed home, only after being able to walk around the entire island due to it being low tide! We also tried to get a little creative with some ring shots because you can never have too many of those! Enjoy! Finally she (or he) is complete. We painted her up to look similar to our tables "numbers". We had no trouble picking a name suitable for her. We really just wanted a name that captured one man, Dadoo. After all, without him we would have never been able to complete this project. We love you Arthur Joseph, radio handle and all! Thank you so much! We needed a few more pieces of driftwood for our altar so we went on an adventure to look for some. After a full day of searching, I think we finally landed all the pieces we could possibly need (and that the boat could hold). If we need more, we have a few spots to return to. Now we just need to figure out who is going to be strong enough to set it up on the beach for us. Any takers? Dadoo and I went to the barn to finish up our boat cooler! We were making good progress until B-Dub had to come and boss us around and start using power tools. Joking. Anyway, Dadoo and I figured out what we wanted/needed to do to finish her off just right. Then B-Dub showed up to help us get everything together. To be honest, I really think I just got in the way. Regardless, structurally she is complete. Now for her paint job! Thanks Joseph for all of your wood working skills! We love you! We had our first response cards come in today, four to be exact. Our crew has now grown by 8! Thank you for such a quick response guys! We can't wait to spend our day with you. We were thinking about giving a prize to the first response, but we weren't sure who got it in fastest. We officially opened Kristi and Mia's card first. Thank you Aunt Nana and Uncle Jorge, Tom and Marge, and Meemaw and Dadoo! You are all tied for first! I received a phone call (and email) from Davids Bridal that my dress had arrived. Super exciting, yet somewhat of an anxiety rush. I wasn't expecting it for another month. Know I have to figure out where to store it so Boo doesn't see. Anyway, for the good stuff! My Dad, Kris and Little Miss Mia joined me to go try it on. After finally getting the dress zipped I was able to relax. Thankfully, it fit perfectly. The zipper issue supposedly happens often and can be fixed with use and soap. It looks like I will be trying her on a lot. Now I just have to name her. Thanks to my photographer, Kris, I was able to have this moment captured. She even got me putting my dress in "The Tank"! She was also detailed enough to notice my room number, 35. Which for those that followed us in sports know its both of our numbers put together. :) I can't thank them enough for helping me make this final decision. Poppa Bear helped me make a very significant decision, which I can't wait to share on our day and Kris topped his idea off just right! I love all three of you very much and I am so thankful I got to share this moment with such special people. Oh, and I got Mia's approval, so maybe (fingers crossed), she might wear it for her special day! |
