So now for our trip details. We got in around 12 am only to accidentally set off the alarm. The police responded promptly... keys time... 3 HOURS later. The next day we hit the water to look for our "expensive but rare driftwood" We found all we needed within an hour! Along with a Square Grouper. After a few calls later, we were informed to pick up the bail and bring it to the "FWC" officer (we knew he was DEA) at the docks (who according to Brandon, was an ETA of 7 minutes away). After the drama of the weed was out of the way... we tore it up. We eventually headed back to the house and unloaded our treasures. We did the same thing the next day (minus finding another square grouper). Sadly our trip ended too soon. Thankfully, we found everything we needed and then some, had awesome food (No Name Pub and Dantes), and spent a whopping $40 dollars on gas for the boat (Thanks Dadoo! and Dr. John).
As if the almost month we spent down in the Keys wasn't enough, we took an impromptu trip to gather the remaining driftwood we needed and any other potential things we could use at our wedding or future residence. Thanks to Mom we were able to go into the Exclusive Restaurant Depot. We wanted to double check plate prices to make sure we couldn't find something better for cheaper. We also went in to look at silverware and start pricing out different options for us. Then we took a visit into Sam's Club to check out paper plates for our Sunday reception.
We've been dating officially for 7 years and 9 months! What better way to celebrate the focusing on the centerpieces? No way better! We marked out a 5 foot round table and got to work measuring up how big (or small) we had to make our cuts on the driftwood. Surprisingly this didn't take too long. We finished in enough time to grab an early dinner and head to the beach to watch the Harvest Moon rise. Oh and I should note, we both wore our shirts we got engaged in!
We had a scrap piece of wood that I found on the side of the road and thought it would be perfect to do a test run on the wooden buoys. A couple minutes later, we figured out it would work perfectly. Now we just have to get them all done and painted up :)
Baby had a break from school, so it was a day we took to try to get some stuff done for him (for the wedding of course). We went to a few shops looking for options and found a few. The amazing suit from Jos. A Bank and then the more reasonable options at Men's Wearhouse. Now the only decision he has to make is purchase or rent. He didn't try the rental on, but he looked absolutely handsome in the linen option! Today was Wednesday, which means more than likely we went to Jupiter Civic Center. :) We actually just stopped by quickly to get a layout of the tables in the room. We think we have a set up that might work. Then again, you never know with me as I run through everything a million times, because just getting it once is never enough. Then we headed on up to Island Party Rentals to meet with Jade. She so graciously took the time to go over everything with us and even had tables set up for us to look at and go over. Quite a successful day, in a baby step kind of way.
The air dry clay wasn't drying strong enough so I had to redo the toppers with a polymer baking clay. After a couple days of work, I finally completed them. I couldn't have done it with out Brandon's help with the colors. He was bound and determined to make sure I got the perfect Blue and Orange. Go Gata! Also, many people don't get the jersey number so I will give you a hint: What day are we getting married on?
